SPRING SEASON IN FULL SWING WITH THE YOUTHSTAGE
TALE OF ‘RAMONA QUIMBY’

Salt Lake City, UT, April 7, 2010 – The Children’s Theatre announces the spring
Youthstage production of the delightfully rambunctious RAMONA QUIMBY. Based on
the classic Beverly Cleary stories and performed by student actors ages 8 to 18, the two
week show run opens Friday, April 23rd at 7 p.m. The rest of the run includes two shows
on Saturday, April 24th at 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. and three shows the following weekend
April 30th at 7 p.m. and May 1st at 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Unpredictable. Exasperating. Boisterous and independent. That's Ramona Quimby for
you. Always aggravating her older sister, Beezus, constantly getting into trouble and
sometimes "making a big, noisy fuss" when things don't go her way. RAMONA QUIMBY
follows the exploits of imaginative Ramona and the rest of the Quimby clan as they live,
work and play in their neighborhood on Klickitat Street. The play is produced by special
arrangement with Dramatic Publishing of Woodstock, Illinois and dramatized by Len
Jenkins.

Youthstage, a performance based class within The Children’s Theatre Acting School,
teaches the discipline of working as an actor in the theatre. Youth ages 8 to 18 are
invited to audition for entry into the program. Students investigate all styles of theatre
eventually taking one story from concept through Closing Night. In so doing they produce
truly engaging shows on par with many of our Mainstage performances, making the
actor’s ages the only noticeable difference. The Youthstage’s educational objective, as
with all of the Acting School classes, is not stardom but to have students learn the
discipline and skills of the stage through these student performances.

General admission tickets for are $8 for Youthstage performances with discounts
available for groups and Season Ticket holders. For more information about the
Mainstage performances, Youthstage performances and the Acting School programs
offered by The Children’s Theatre please call 801.532.6000 or go online at
