The Emperor is vain and only consumed with his appearance. When two traveling con men hear of the Emperor's foolishness, they devise a plan to cash in and trick of the entire court into believing they are tailors who will make the Emperor's new clothes. It takes the innocence of a child to make them all "see" what is truly important.
